DIRTY DUSTY & DIVINE
Produced by Martin Kearns and Michael A. Simpson, the album channels the band’s rock roots and eclectic influences with new material and remixes of original songs dating to the early ’70s. Available on more than 100 streaming and download sites.
"Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year is Athens’ original set of rockers, Ravenstone. Originally formed in 1971 as part band and part student political party, Ravenstone was as well known for its political stances as it was for its rousing live performances. This new record swings with an R&B vibe of the first degree.” (Athens music critic Gordon Lamb)
“The new album rocks convincingly, with some Southern, R&B and gospel influences mixed in, and, yes, they still aren't afraid to let you know what they think.” Bill King, publisher of Beatlefan
Featured tracks: "Dance of Life" "Natural Born Slaves" "Finger Puppets"
BACK ON THE ROCK
"The hottest new band from Athens, Ga., is actually one of the oldest. '70s roots rockers Ravenstone have finally reconvened, and their sound illuminates that of younger Athens stars like Widespread Panic. Jazz horns and flitting flutes create a jam-fest ambience, while sizzling guitars and scarred vocals are all southern rock." Editors Pick music.download.com
Featured tracks: "The Girl With Somethin' Extra" "Dogma" "Drivin' By Braille"
MORE LOVE
The CD reissue of the band's early single “More Love” reignited interest in the group. It was recorded “live in the studio” and evokes and celebrates the band’s early 70s sound. “More Love” was featured on the DVD for the 1988 cult movie classic “Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers” directed by the band’s frontman Michael A. Simpson.
